Imatta.com is a renowned platform providing mental health and well being services through self help content, live and interactive sessions and on demand counselling.
The head of service and clinical lead at Imatta is Dr Jamie Barsky. Jamie is a registered and chartered consultant clinical psycologist who works within the NHS part time with young people and families suffering with significant mental ill health.
Current waiting lists for children’s mental health services on the NHS are at unprecedented highs, meaning that even the most vulnerable looked after children have to wait many weeks or months to see a mental health practitioner. Meaning that often children with mental health issues which could have been managed had help been available, go into crisis causing the break down of relationships, self harm, anger issues, violence etc
Imatta changes this. The platform allows children to instantly access (from their phone/tablet or computer) online content (such as articles, videos, exercises and interactive tools) which can provide immediate help and a secure, safe and non-judgemental place to be themselves. Weekly live and interactive group sessions facilitated by experienced clinicians can also be accessed with ease and if necessary, children can seek a one to one session. Such sessions can usually be provided on line within less than an hour. Imatta is therefore a life changing service for many young people, allowing them to access immediate help, preventing an issue becoming a crisis.
Cottongrass Homes Limited is delighted to have a partner in Imatta.com. Meaning that all the children we support have free subscriptions to the Imatta platform and the wealth of help that it provides. Imatta.com also creates bespoke workshops for our children depending on their needs.
As a result of this partnership we are able to provide an industry leading level of emotional and psychological support to the children we support.
